Khao Lak and Khao Sok

Exactly a week ago we arrived in Khao Lak. I wanted to go diving the next day but that was not possible so I booked the diving for the Monday after the national park that I wanted to see. Because I could not go diving, it became a nice relaxing beach day on Khao Lak beach. Khao Lak was much more expensive than that we suspected and the costs of 2 dives where 180 Euro!!! Oke it was richelieu Rock but still far to expensive!! On Friday Jana and I went to Khao Sok and we stayed is een bungalow Park  whit a pool  in the jungle, what was really nice!! In the evening we went on a night safari where we saw snakes, cameleons, spiders, grasshopper, monkeys and lots of other insects. On the way back, we bought cold beer and we where sitting outside by our bungalow listening to the jungle around us. We also had a bat flying in to the room but lucky he also fly out again by the bathroom. Yes it's all very open in those bungalows Hahaha. The next morning we went to the hostel from where we did the overnight safari on the lake. Unfortunately we where with a group of 45 persons!!! First with the bus for 1,5 hours and than with longtail boats for 1 hour to arrive by our bungalow on the lake. After a lunch of left overs more or less from the groups before we went on a hike to a cave. The nature was so so beautyfull!! Walking true the jungle and the cave was so so cool. Inside the cave where thousands of bats and the only light you had was the light torse on your head. Some place we had to swim in the cave, it was amazing!! Back by the bungalow we had a little swim before we went on the longtail boat sunset safari. We saw a beautyfull bird named hornbill. Unfortunately it went to fast so I don't have a picture of the bird. But I have a video of the otter family that was going in and out the water and enjoying themselves. We watched the sunset from the longtail boat and returned to the bungalowplace for dinner. The dinner was really nice, the where making up for the lunch of that day! After dinner we have been playing card till we went to bed. The next day we went with the longtail boat for a short morning safari, what was beautiful and very humid what you an see on the pictures. We did not see any animal. After breakfast we had very short time to kayak before we went to a viewpoint in the lake. The viewpoint was looking like halong Bay in Vietnam but than less touristic. Very beautyfull!! Back on land the had a lunch of fried rice before we went back in the too hot bus to the hostel from where the excursion. Lucky we good change the minivan to Khao Lak from 16.30 to 15.00 as we where much earlier back than we got told. 

Back in Khao Lak we meet Mor again, who went on a 3 days snorkeling trip in the same days we did the national park. On Monday Jana and I went diving on richelieu Rock. It was really beautiful but I would not pay that money to do it again. In the evening we went back to the  bar in Khao Lak where they had good live music, to have a wine on the last evening together with Jana. Jana was leaving the next morning to bangkok and Mor and I where going to an other hostel for one night in Khao Lak. 

Tuesday was an nice relaxing beach and planning day. I booked my busticket for Friday from ranong to bangkok, booked the hostel for saterday night in bangkok, scheduled the times for the busses and boats for today and felt very happy with that!! 

Now I am in the second bus to Ranong, where we had standing/sitting on the floor places for the first hour as there where no seats available for the first hour. Better that than waiting another hour for an other bus. We wanted to take the ferry from 14.00 but I think we will not make that. The bus was already late and we just had an extra stop because the military was checking our paspoorts. So I think we have to take the more expensive speedboat from 15.00. When we arrive with the bus in Ranong, we have to take a grab(cheap taxi) to the pier and from the pier we will get a boat to Koh Phayam. We can share the grab with 2 other people here in he bus that also need to go to the pier, always good to share the grab cost with more people!!
